Microsoft had announced laying off 10,000 people in January this year and about 500 more workers were laid off in the US in March. Now, 276 workers have been shown the exit door yet again, as per reports.
A senior-level Microsoft employee, who had been working for the company since Since November 2008, lost her job in the recent layoffs round and called it the end of an era. Taking to LinkedIn, she wrote how she dedicated herself to the company for such a long time and now finds herself at a crossroads with the tech giant.

Microsoft employee loses job after 14 years
Her LinkedIn post, announcing her layoff news, reads, "After spending 14 years dedicated to a remarkable company, I find myself at a crossroads as the Microsoft chapter in my life draws to a close. Throughout these years, I have experienced numerous reorganization processes and witnessed the departure of many talented individuals. Now, it is my turn to bid farewell and join the ranks of those leaving Microsoft. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the individuals I had the pleasure of meeting within this vast organization; my admiration for those who remain a part of it runs deep. I am immensely grateful to the exceptional mentors, managers, and colleagues I leave behind.
Talking about how this marks the beginning of a 'new era' and that she is willing to take up the challenges that lie ahead, the former Microsoft employee wrote, "Today marks the beginning of a new era for me—one that entails self-reinvention and continuous personal growth. I enthusiastically embrace fresh challenges that lie ahead. Microsoft recent layoffs
As per a GeekWire report, 276 people were impacted by Microsoft's recent round of layoffs. The departments that were impacted include customer service, support, and sales. 66 of the fired employees were working remotely, as per the report.
Talking about the layoffs, a spokesperson told CNBC, "Organisational and workforce adjustments are a necessary and regular part of managing our business. We will continue to prioritise and invest in strategic growth areas for our future and in support of our customers and partners."
