WINFIELD, Kan. (KWCH) - Silgan Dispensing Systems Corporation is closing its Winfield plant next year.
Jessica Falk with Cowley First confirmed that 169 employees at the dispensing closure manufacturer received 60-day notices on Tuesday. The company plans to consolidate its operations with a target closing date of March 2024.
Falk said she understands the decision to close the plant was made by the company and not locally. She said Cowley First will focus on making sure employees get new work in Cowley County by connecting them with employers.
Silgan offered some employees jobs at the company’s facility in Grandview Missouri. The exact number has yet to be confirmed. Layoffs begin in January.
