WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (KWWL) -- After more than 20 years of service to
UnityPoint Health, President/CEO Kevin Vermeer is stepping down to pursue other opportunities, according to a release from the company.
Vermeer will leave his position effective April 30. He assumed the role of CEO more than four years ago.
Sue Thompson, MS, BSN, Senior Vice President of Integration and Optimization and CEO of UnityPoint Accountable Care, will serve as interim CEO. Thompson previously served as CEO of the system's Fort Dodge region.
The UnityPoint Board of Directors will launch a national search for a permanent CEO over the coming months.
