Yakima County — A Moxee man and East Valley School District employee is currently held in jail for suspicion of second-degree rape.
A 44-year-old male is currently booked in Yakima County Corrections after he allegedly raped a 12-year-old student in the East Valley School District.
The girl reported the incident to a staff member at East Valley Central Middle School.
According to police affidavits, the girl said she was raped almost daily since September in an interview with Child Advocacy Center.
The superintendent issued a statement regarding the incident Saying:
“We have taken the steps necessary to ensure the safety of our students, while also ensuring the due process rights of the employee consistent with our Collective Bargaining Agreement.”
This is an on-going investigation, and we will provide an update once new information becomes available.
