LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Beatrice man was arrested for a crash that killed a longtime NDCS worker in October.

David Warren, 39, was booked into Lancaster County Jail on Wednesday for manslaughter and DUI - serious bodily injury.

The crash happened just south of Lincoln, right outside Norris Public Power on Oct. 28 and involved multiple vehicles.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said Warren was behind the wheel of an Infinity QX56 Sport when he hit the end of a semi-truck’s trailer, spun into the opposite lane and struck a Toyota Tundra. The driver of the Tundra, 53-year-old Bradley Kreifels, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 53-year-old Lori Kreifels, was in the passenger seat and suffered a fractured hip, pelvis and wrist and required surgery.

Bradley worked for NDCS for 30 years, most recently at the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln.

According to the arrest affidavit, a blood test showed Warren’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. Warren’s license had also been revoked at the time, with two previous DUI convictions.
