CenterPoint Energy, the regulated utility that supplies power to most of the Houston area, said Tuesday that it named former Halliburton chief David J. Lesar as president and CEO effective Wednesday.
Lesar succeeds John W. Somerhalder II who stepped in as interim president and CEO of CenterPoint in February, after the sudden departure of Scott M. Prochazka.
Lesar was chairman and CEO of Halliburton from 2000 to 2017. He joined the CenterPoint board in May.
