NORTHUMBERLAND – Local business and community leader, Dave Geise last week, he was 75.  Geise was CEO and President of Furman’s Foods for over 35 years, and was a leader of a number of local endeavors.

His family says Geise was born in Northumberland in 1947 and graduated from Northumberland High School in 1964. In 1968 he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture from Penn State and married Joyce Miller, they were married for 53 years and had three sons.

The obituary says “Geise is remembered as being a loving husband and father and man of God. He would take his family to church and enjoyed sharing his love of God with others. As CEO of Furman’s Food, he brought his kindness to the work place and inspired others.”

Aside from being the CEO of Furman’s Foods, Geise served on the board of several organizations including the Meadowbrook Christian School, Penn State Ag Advisory Board, local Boy Scouts of America and others.

Geise is survived by his wife, his son, Matt and wife Jenn, son Chad and wife Tabitha and their two children, son Todd, his sister Lois Stuck, his brother Don and his wife Sue, his brother-in-law, Les Riser and many cousins, nieces and nephews

Geise will be laid to rest on Sunday, March 27 at Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Rd, Milton at 3 p.m.
