Former Sacramento Magazine employee sues publication for not paying final wages, court docs show
A former employee of Sacramento Magazine is suing the publication and its CEO, Stefan Wanczyk, in federal court, claiming that the magazine did not pay many of the employees their last paychecks.In September, the magazine was sold to Hour Media. In the suit, Lisa Bonk, a former employee, said employees were told the magazine would stop publication immediately, and all the workers were terminated. Bonk says the company did not send final paychecks by payday and that many employees were still without their last paycheck. She is claiming violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act and asking for a class action for all employees who had not received their checks on time. The suit asks for unpaid wages, attorney’s fees and other damages the court sees as reasonable.
