Three people were arrested Wednesday when a fraudulent attempt to rent a car at Bradley International Airport led to one suspect injuring a rental car employee while trying to elude authorities, state police said.

Connecticut State Police said the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Michael Dunton, was driving a Hyundai Genesis and backed into a Hertz-owned Volvo SUV that subsequently struck an employee during an incident at the airport shortly before 6 p.m.

The employee was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries, state police said.

Troopers were called to the airport on the report of a suspicious male using fraudulent identification to rent a car. Upon arrival, troopers confronted two male suspects who ran from authorities, according to state police.

Dunton, of Ludlow, Massachusetts, got into the Genesis and struck the Volvo before his car became disabled when he reportedly tried ramming an exit gate, state police said. The other male suspect, identified as 35-year-old David Fratini, fled on foot and was arrested shortly thereafter on airport property, according to state police.

Fratini was charged with use of drug paraphernalia and interfering with police.

State police also arrested a passenger in the Genesis, identified as 34-year-old Nichole Amy Dupuis, of Ludlow, Massachusetts. She was charged with use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Dunton faces charges of third-degree assault of a pregnant person, evading responsibility, second-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal mischief and criminal impersonation.

Dunton was held in lieu of a $100,000 bail and was expected to appear in Enfield Superior Court on Thursday, state police said.

Fratini, of Three Rivers, Massachusetts, was held on a $10,000 bond and was expected to face a judge in Hartford Superior Court Thursday.

Dupuis was released without having to post bail and is expected to appear in Hartford on Aug. 25.
