Employees tasked with launching Oregon’s new paid family and medical leave program continued to raise concerns about the division’s commitment to diversity and equity issues months after the employment department retained an outside law firm to investigate allegations of discrimination within the program.
While the majority of 43 staff members who participated in an internal survey in July indicated morale in the division was good and that leadership valued equity practices, some employees raised significant concerns about its culture. The July survey, obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive through a public records request, is the most recent staff survey conducted by the division.
