A city Parks Department employee was “in shock” after a mysterious masked man dressed in black beat her with a chair during an unprovoked attack Saturday morning outside the Betsy Head Pool in Brooklyn, police and her colleagues said.

The 38-year-old female Parks staffer was clearing the front of the Brownsville facility with a leaf blower around 8 a.m. when she was hit in the head multiple times with a metal folding chair, officials said.

The attacker then ran off.

The woman was taken to the hospital “conscious and breathing,” Parks officials said.

NYPD said she was in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital.

A city Parks employee who heard the woman scream, said the assailant “came out of nowhere” and hit her from behind.

“She was in shock. She wasn’t saying sh–,” the incredulous colleague told The Post hours after the incident. The colleague said he heard another employee yelling “don’t do that” but “it was too late. He already came up and hit her with a chair…I feel sorry for her.”

Parks officials were quick to denounce the brutal beatdown.

“Our staff suffering violent assaults is simply appalling” said Crystal Howard, a Parks spokeswoman. “We are actively cooperating with the NYPD on their investigation of the matter.”

Police said the man was wearing a ski mask, black shirt and black pants

There were no arrests.
